Just a Thought

Did not get to play last night. Will play tonight. I wish they would increase the legal limit in Washington as the highest we are allowed to play is 12/24. The other mini-casinos are now allowed to have $200 limits on Blackjack and other card games but not poker. What the hell is the reasoning behind that. O well just have to go play 10/20 again until I can get out of town. SJ

Monday Morning Look

I played only on Friday this weekend at the Hideaway in Seattle, 10/20 game. It was the usual game full of gamble, and I started out on fire. Two pair after posting that held up, then waited until big blind for next hand and picked up pocket 33's. Unraised pot, limped and flopped a set. Flop had two hearts, board paired on turn, check raised the field, got two callers. River brought the beautiful 3 of hearts for Quads, bet right out and got raised, three bet it and and got called. Nice start. Next hand, pocket AA's in the small blind. Held up. Just on fire. Stayed that way for about an hour or so until I was up $1300. Wow. Then it turned, just as bad the other way. Pokert KK's crushed, pocket QQ's beat on river, hand after hand beat. I tightened way up, nothing changed, so I quit at 1:30am and took what was left of my big start home, up $573. A win is a win, just should have been bigger.

I am playing well right now. Easy to play well when cards come your way. Was happy to book a win when cards turned on me.

On a side note, my friend Aaron finished day one of the WPT final event at the Bike as the chip leader, then managed to not even make the third day. Wow, what a swing. If he could have just stayed even all day he would have still had an average stack. What a bummer. SJ

The Beginning

This is my first post to my Blogg. Don't know if anyone will actually find this site, but looked fun to start. I am a avid poker player and play 2 or 3 times a week. I have a job, so I do not get to play as much as I would like. My name will remain seattlejohn for right now and I am 35. If anyone wants to talk to me I can be found at Seattlejohn@gmail.com. I usually play 10/20 locally in Seattle and take trips out of town to play higher. I will start to keep my results up here so you and I can follow along. I also am good freinds with a high limit player named Aaron and get lots of interesting stories from the High limit world and will put those up as well. I just got back from Vegas and played in the Mirage $1000 buy in no-limit event. 280 or so players, and my fist table had Barry Greenstein, Dewey Tomko, Toby Maguire, and us no names. I was playing well but had not accumulated a ton of chips. Just kept sticking around. I managed to bust Dewey which was cool. I had pocket KK's to his 99's and KK held up. I lasted long enough for them to break my 1st table, and was moved to a table with David Plastik, nothing eventful happend there. Then they broke that table and I was moved to a table with 4 women, two of which were Cindy Violette, and Katy Leibert. There was only about 110 people left and I was doing just fine. I had a decent amount of chips and just wanted to keep playing solid. The I picked up Pocket AA utg, perfect. We were playing 100/200 blinds with a $50 ante and I had about 11,000 in chips. Not great but not bad. I made a small raise to 600 and got cold called by two others before the button, Kathy, who had a pile of ships maybe $50,000 re-reaised over the top for like 8,000. I moved in with my 11,000 the other two got out of the way and Kathy called. I was thinking perfect time to double up. She rolled over KK to my AA, and we took the flop. DEATH, K,J,10 flop. Well outs to the A and Q, J on turn took away the 10 and the other two people told me they mucked an A. Done and out. O well, what can you do, that's poker. Had a great time, made money in the 30/60 and 60/120 games to pay for my trip. I will play tonight and will post next week to let you know how I do.
